The Secret Behind The Sauce

Founded By MasterChefs

As a Burmese chef, Suu Khin brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the bold flavors of Burmese cuisine, while Joseph Manglicmot, a Filipino-American chef, specializes in traditional Filipino cooking techniques. They met on MasterChef US: Legends Season 11 and immediately connected on their Houston roots, passion for Southeast Asian cuisine and love for food. The idea to create a sauce company that authentically represents Southeast Asia was planted during the show when the judges told them repeatedly to bottle up the delicious sauces they created throughout the season. Coming from cultures that value community and sharing, it was only right to share these great flavors with the rest of the world.

Meet Suu Khin

Suu’s journey in the culinary world started in her grandmother's kitchen. Memories from her childhood have shaped her cooking style and perception of food, making every dish she creates an ode to her family, traditions, culture, ethnicity, and history. Suu's grandmother taught her that food is more than just a meal; it's a way to spread kindness and portray generosity. Cooking with love is never overrated, and one should always have respect for the ingredients, gratitude for every helping hand, and compassion for the people being cooked for. Growing up in a third-world country, Suu witnessed how food is a luxury on its own, even if it's prepared with the simplest techniques and cheapest ingredients. Suu hopes to celebrate cultural diversity and bring people closer through her culinary experiences. Every dish she creates is infused with personal anecdotes, making it not just a meal but a heartwarming journey through her life and heritage. For Suu, Naga encompasses all of that and more.
